Gap
Analysis Assessment -This is one
of the first steps in your Quality Management System (QMS)
transition or implementation project is to compare your organization
to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. This is
generally performed by the consultant during one of the initial
visits to your facility.
The
purpose of this audit is through the use of a checklist an
auditor will compare the organization and then determine the
"gaps" between your organization and the requirements
of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. When the audit has been completed,
the auditor will meet with top management to summarize the
assessment results. These results can be transferred to a
task lists for the implementation schedule.
Pre-Assessment
Audit - A pre-assessment
audit is a complete audit of the quality system to determine
readiness for a third party registration audit by a registrar.
A pre-assessment audit is followed by a meeting reporting
the results to the organizations top management. Any nonconformance’s
to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard and to the
organization’s documentation is reviewed. A pre-assessment
audit includes a consultation on how to correct nonconformance’s
found during the audit.
